AGAINST – Urgency motion - sensitive foreign affairs matters

Liberal Senator Simon Birmingham moved that the Senate vote on the importance of consultation and careful consideration when dealing with complex and sensitive foreign affairs matters, and the need for Prime Minister Albanese to apologise to Israeli Prime Minister Lapid for the decision to no longer recognise West Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.

The motion was voted down with 33 votes against and 29 in favour. 

Senator Pocock voted NO.
