Greens Senator Janet Rice moved a second reading amendment to the Bill so it reflects the Royal Commission into Aged Care’s call for the use of restrictive practices to be based on independent expert assessments and be subject to ongoing reporting and monitoring.
The motion was voted down with 46 votes against and 13 in favour.
Senator Pocock voted YES.
