Election time is about to get serious.
Inner North volunteers have been hard at work getting the message out at Farmers Market since early Feb and this week we are going to give them a rest, say "thank you", and have a chat over some yummy food. You will have a chance to meet other volunteers and future volunteers, and we can plan events in the campaign ahead.
We won't be campaigning at this event. It is a social catch up. We are not actually allowed to conduct a political event within the confines of the market but there is nothing to stop you wearing a Pocock t-shirt and having convivial discussions as you go about your day. If voters do want to engage in discussions, ask questions, we will do that outside by the ticket office at the entrance from the main northern carpark.
If it works for you, try to leave and depart by Light Rail, that adds to the event visibility and you may meet other supporters.
We will likely set up in the shade near the Eastern entrance to the Markets.

What to Bring
Team Pocock shirt (if you don't have a shirt let Craig know, if you are a regular volunteer you are entitled to one).
Sun protection (preferably with a wide brimmed hat)
A folding chair (there are one or two picnic tables there but sometimes occupied.)
Buy your supplies to eat and share at the Markets!
Love meeting new people? Come join us for a fun afternoon of doorknocking in RED HILL/NARRABUNDAH this Sunday (weather permitting)! We’ll be inviting folks to Senator Pocock’s event, TBC.
It’s also a great chance to connect with locals and hear what matters most to them. New to doorknocking? No worries! We’ll pair you up with an experienced volunteer, and trust us—you’ll have a great time! 😊
To wrap up a great day, we’ll head to XXX for a well-earned debrief and relax. Hope to see you there! 🍻
Politics in the Park
Event set up and pack down:
Saturday 22 March
3.30-5.30pm
Denny Street Playground
81 Denny Street Latham
Volunteers required to help set up space, greet local commmunity as they arrive and pack up at end of event.
4.30pm: Set up a few chairs, trestle table and picnic blankets
4-5pm: Event takes place - volunteers required to welcome and talk to local residents, support sign ups for volunteers
5pm: Pack up picnic and ensure no rubbish is left behind.
Aim for 2+ voluneers to set up and pack down
We need 6-8 people to help with baking cakes, slices or treats.

All voluneers are welcome to attend the event and meet David - as you are Belconnen residents. Wear your t-shirt or hat!
Linda, Latham local, has invited David Pocock to meet her local community at Denny Street Playground in Latham.
David is looking forward to having a chat and hearing what matters to the Belconnen community and what they want a future Canberra to look like.
Cake and snacks, and some seating and picnic blankets will be provided.
All local residents as well as the wider Belconnen community are invited. Bring your families, friends and dogs!

This volunteer onboarding session is intended to be a warm introduction to Team Pocock for anyone who has newly joined us and a casual social catch up for anyone who may be a long time volunteer or somewhere in between. People who are not yet sure if volunteering is for them, friends and family are also welcome.
Please join us to meet the volunteer leadership team and other volunteers from your area, hear a few rousing words from David, collect a t-shirt or a corflute/yard sign if you need one, get some help joining Team Pocock on Slack and ask any questions you may have.
Experienced volunteers from Tuggeranong and Campaign HQ will be there to answer any questions you may have about the campaign and talk you through the activities you can get involved in.
