What an afternoon at Capital Brewing for the campaign launch! Thanks to everyone who came along to it. Thanks to Alex Dyson (independent candidate for Wannon in Victoria) for being our MC, and thanks to Jack River and Lucy Sugarman for performing.
A snippet from my speech:
“I’ve been hearing loud and clear from Canberrans that the time to change the way we’re represented is now. We don’t want every issue to be politicised for political gain - including, shockingly, national security. We want a pragmatic and sensible approach that looks after us and our future together.”
We’ll be sharing more photos and video from it on social media.
I was at a few other events over the weekend:
I was on a panel at the premiere of Damon Gameau’s new documentary, Regenerating Australia, in Sydney on Friday night. It is well worth checking out when it’s released!
Then it was back to Canberra to sit in the pouring rain for the Brumbies vs Waratahs game at Bruce Stadium. A good win for the Brumbies in the end. A couple of radio interviews on Sunday (2CC in Canberra and 6PR in Perth) morning and then Clean Up Australia Day at Lake Tuggeranong. We had a good crew down there picking up rubbish from the reeds.
Then it was time for the campaign launch where we had over 500 people! Our volunteers team will be in touch with you if you signed up to volunteer. If you haven’t and would like to sign up:
