Committee Work

COMMITTEES TO WHICH SENATOR DAVID POCOCK IS A MEMBER

Of the 38 Senate committees that have been established during this Parliamentary term,  I have been a voting or participating member on 24 of them.

A brief guide to Committees

Parliamentary Committees are a valuable opportunity for organisations, businesses and the community to participate in debates and the formulation of public policy. They offer an opportunity to make submissions and present evidence on the public record. Committees enable a more detailed investigation of certain issues or pieces of legislation than time for debate in the Senate Chamber allows. For more information about committees, see here.

Voting members of committees vote on the conduct of the committee. Participating members are able to attend hearings, ask questions and contribute to reports but do not vote on how the committee is conducted.
