Swearing in - Opening of the 47th Parliament

On 26 July 2022, the Governor-General will convene the first sitting of the 47th Parliament, at which point David will be officially sworn in as Senator for the ACT (although his term commenced on Election Day).

The swearing in ceremony will take place in the Senate Chamber at Parliament House and will be open to anyone from the community to attend and watch from the public gallery.

Attendance is free and registration is not required however if you RSVP below we can keep you updated once arrangements for the day are finalised.

The ACT community and our Team Pocock volunteers were at the heart of Senator Pocock's campaign and he would love to see you there!

Details of the date and time for Senator Pocock's First Speech have yet to be confirmed.

Please note that Parliament House rules do not permit the wearing of Team Pocock merchandise into the building and you will are not permitted to film proceedings in the chamber and will need to log personal effects at the cloak room prior to entering the public gallery.
