After our constituent, Terence Palmer, informed my office of an error in the Table of Precedence for the Commonwealth of Australia, I wrote to the Government on his behalf asking that the error be rectified.
The ACT Chief Minister had long been omitted from the Commonwealth Table of Precedence, where he should have been included following the Prime Minister in rank of seniority for the ACT.
Terence first noticed this error 12 years ago and has been pursuing it ever since, writing to ACT and Commonwealth officials since June 2010 to no avail. After Terence contacted my office, I wrote to the Government on 27 July 2022 and received a letter back on 5 September 2022 saying the error had been rectified. The Canberra Times reported on his satisfaction at having seen the issue resolved.
