Three years ago our community made history, electing me as the first independent to represent the ACT in the Senate.

It has been such an honour serving a community I love, putting people first, doing politics differently and standing up for the ACT.

As a Territory Senator I’m up every election, so now it’s time to do it all again and I’d love you to be part of it.

I’ll be officially launching my campaign from 5.30pm on Sunday 16 March and I’ll be hosting it at the Museum of Australian Democracy, Old Parliament House in recognition of independents being elected in our parliament since 1901.

There will be food, drinks to purchase, live music from local Canberra band, Moaning Lisa, but most of all lots of conversations and good times.

Earlier this year we saw the major parties move to undermine our democracy with changes that will lock out new independents.

This election is our opportunity to tell them we want choice and a level playing field. Community-driven politics is at the heart of what democracy is all about and everyone should have a fair chance at representing their community.

So please come along and celebrate everything we have been able to achieve together over the past three years as well as the things we are still fighting for.

Parliament needs to be a place where we have the courage to tackle the big problems and get to the root causes of the issues we face, from health to housing, climate and environment and of course the cost of living.

All are welcome but please register to attend for planning purposes.
