More than two years after the landmark Murphy Review into the harms of online gambling, the Albanese Government still has not responded to its 31 recommendations.

With a looming world-first ban about to come into force for teenagers and social media, our young people and other vulnerable Australians are still without protection from the harms of online gambling.

Action has never been more urgent.

Last year Australians lost a whopping $31.5 billion to gambling - the same amount the federal government spends on aged care.

Online gambling is being normalised for Australia's youth with more young people wagering than playing community sport.

The Government can and should act, starting with implementing the 31 recommendations of the Murphy Review, including a phased in ban on all gambling advertising.

Join us for a special lunchtime public event in the Australian Parliament House Theatre to talk about what government can and should do now.

Panel:

  • Kate Chaney, Member for Curtin and part of the Murphy Review committee inquiry
  • David Pocock, ACT Independent Senator
  • Kate Seselja, National gambling reform advocate

Special guest: Shaun Micallef will be in the crowd with a crew filming the event for a special project coming to your screens soon.

When: Doors open at 12pm for a panel discussion commencing at 12:15pm. The event will conclude at 1:45pm.

Attendance is free but please reserve your seat.
