The Western Edge is a large section of land from West of the new suburbs of Wright and Denman Prospect down to the Murrumbidgee River, stretching from behind Mount Stromlo all the way up to Uriarra Crossing. The land was bought by the ACT Government to investigate its use as future suburbs.

The land has extremely high cultural and ecological significance and presents an incredible opportunity for the ACT to work with First Nations people and develop co-management then ultimately hand ownership of the land to First Nations People. It would be the ACT’s first and only First Nations owned and managed area.

Join Senator Pocock, First Nations people and Professor Phil Gibbons to hear about the potential for the Western Edge to become a part of the ACT we can all be proud of.

The event will feature the release of a short film from Cowboy Hat Productions to showcase the Western Edge and why it is such a valuable part of the territory.
