Google map and directions

Come and spend a morning out with the Team Pocock community at the Uriarra East Picnic Grounds to help restore some of the degraded riverbanks around the incredible Murrumbidgee River.

Expect hands in soil, fresh spring air, sharing, learning and working together to help rebuild our ecosystem.

Trees, planting equipment and instructions are all supplied. You’ll just need to bring a hat, snacks, water and appropriate clothes and footwear. No experience required!

Please note: if your vehicle is not able to drive off road, including a small river crossing, you will need to be able to walk approximately 1km to reach the planting site.

This tree planting is also supported by Landcare ACT and the Southern ACT Catchment Group as part of the Urban Rivers Project. Nearly half of Australia’s threatened animals and a quarter of its threatened plants live in urban areas. By improving water quality, restoring habitats, and expanding green and blue spaces, the program conserves ecosystems, strengthens climate resilience, and supports healthier communities.
